Custom Onion Domes

This was set out to be a budget project in creating custom onion domes for 6 icon stands in the middle of the main church of St John's parish in Colchester. 

​

In creating this, I simply used Adobe Illustrator to draw up the plans and then cutting the wood using a laser cut machine. 

​

I would then piece the bits together using hot glue and then mount them on the top of each icon stand, replacing the basic orthodox crosses that were there before. 

​

The entire cost of buying the materials, and renting the laser cut machine for an hour came to £50.
