Church Frieze

In this project I had to design a frieze that would be fixed on all the beams of the Chapel of all the Saints who have shown forth in the Isles. In this particular design I wanted to incorporate heraldry marks and symbols of Christianity in the four corners of the United Kingdom.

From the top down the frieze features the dragon head and sword of St George, the boat used by missionaries such as St Brendan and St Felix, The cross of St Andrew, the crown and arrows of St Edmund, the Celtic cross of the ancient monasteries, the sword and martyrs crown of St Alban, cross and daffodil of St David and the shamrock of St Patrick.
